About Louisville
Attractions in Louisville
Louisville Science Center
The kids will enjoy the interactive exhibits at the this centre, which include the 'Chemical Kitchen', 'Inventors Garage' and a giant heart that beats like a real one. The centre also houses an IMAX theatre.
Mammoth Cave National Park
Mammoth Cave is, quite simply, the biggest cave in the world. It has some 563km (350mi) of surveyed passageways, which is at least three times bigger than any other known cave. To get down there you have to take a ranger-guided tour, and it's wise to book ahead, especially in summer. Above the caves there's lots of natural forest and hiking trails.
Louisville Slugger Museum
Hillerich & Bradsby Co have been making their famous 'Louisville Slugger' baseball bats here since 1884. Look for the 120-foot baseball bat leaning against the building - ya can't miss it. Inside, you can take a guided tour of the factory and watch bats and mitts being crafted, watch a short film and take in a collection of baseball memorabilia.
